In early July Seth was ministering in the Ivory Coast, his mission field. In a small village where the mission team was doing a Bible study, a man named Aurana walked up to the church. Seth began to talk to him and learned that he had gone to the Catholic church for help but they were closed for some special activity. (Sounds providential!) As he headed on to work in the rubber fields, he felt drawn to the church. Seth does not ordinarily participate in this Bible study and oddly enough had declined an invitation to lead the Bible study. Seth writes,
“I love beholding God’s timing in bringing him the same day I came and the same time that we were there! Had I not come, they would have welcomed him in, but he would not have been given the one on one Gospel presentation that God knew he needed!”
Aurana is 29. His described his father as being a pagan drunk who had tried both the Muslim faith and Catholicism. Aurana felt that his life was out of control, and he desperately wanted peace. Though he did not know God, he was definitely being drawn to God – the source of peace. Seth went through the gospel using what he had learned at The Exchange seminar. Aurana prayed in his heart to accept Jesus as his Lord and Savior, then he asked Seth if he would like to know what he had prayed. Seth wrties,
“I loved hearing his childlike prayer of faith!! It was such a joy to see him pray and then see how eager he was to grow and learn what to do next. He asked me, “what do I do now?” Later he asked, ‘anything else?’ Seeing the joy and the peace in his eyes absolutely makes serving God so worth it all over again!”
May we, like Philip of old, follow the Spirit of God’s leading to those whom God is drawing to Himself!
